Controls
the controls should be the up/down/left/right arrow keys, alongside "Z" and "X" for the A and B controls. You can change your controls via emulator.
GBA issues
If you get just a white screen, do Options>Emulator>Save Type and change it from Flash64K to Flash128K (credit goes to some other commenter)
